There are many forms of stamping die, which can generally be classified according to the following main characteristics:

According to the nature of the process

(1) The die is separated from the material along the closed or open profile. Such as blanking die, punching die, cutting die, incision die, cutting die, cutting die, etc.

(2) Bending die the blank sheet or other blank along a straight line (bending line) to produce bending deformation, so as to obtain a certain Angle and shape of the workpiece mold.

(3) The drawing die is to make the blank of sheet metal into open hollow parts, or make the hollow parts to further change the shape and size of the mold.

(4) The forming die is the blank or semi-finished workpiece according to the shape of the convex and concave die directly copied forming, and the material itself only produces local plastic deformation of the die. Such as bulging die, shrinking die, flanging die, flanging die and so on.

Classification according to the degree of process combination

(1) Single process die in one stroke of the press, only one stamping process die is completed.

(2) There is only one station for the composite die. In one stroke of the press, two or more stamping processes of the die are completed at the same station at the same time.

(3) The progressive die (also known as continuous die) has two or more stations in the feeding direction of the blank. In one stroke of the press, the die of two or more stamping processes can be completed successively at different stations.

(4) The transfer mold integrated the characteristics of single process mold and progressive mold, the use of manipulator transfer system, to achieve rapid in-mold transmission of products, can greatly improve the production efficiency of products, reduce the production cost of products, save the cost of materials, and stable and reliable quality.
