The upper die is generally fixed on the slide block of the press through the die handle, and moves up and down along the guide rail of the press together with the slide block, and the lower die is fixed on the work table of the press. The components and functions of the stamping die are classified as follows:

1. Working parts

It is a part that is directly in contact with the stamping material and exerts pressure on it to complete the stamping process. The working parts of the punching die include punch die, concave die and convex die, also known as forming parts, it is the most important part of the punching die.

2. Positioning part

It is to determine the correct position of the material or process parts in the die, so that the stamping parts to obtain qualified quality requirements. The positioning parts belonging to the feeding guide are guide pin, guide plate, side press plate, etc.; The positioning parts belonging to the feeding distance are the starting baffle pin, baffle pin, guide pin, side edge, etc. The positioning parts belonging to the block or working parts have positioning pins, positioning plates, etc.

3. Press and unload parts

This kind of parts have the function of pressing material, and ensure that the waste material or stamping parts stuck in the punch and concave die can be removed or pushed out (top), so as to ensure that the stamping work can continue.

The function of the press plate is to prevent the billet from moving and bouncing. The function of the discharge plate is to facilitate the discharge of parts and the cleaning of waste materials. Usually, the discharge device refers to the stamping parts or waste from the punch to unload; Pusher and jacking devices are used to remove the stamping or scrap from the die. Generally put in the upper die called the push piece: installed in the lower die called the top piece.

4. Guide part

Its main function is to ensure the accuracy of the position between the punch and the die, to ensure that each part of the die to maintain a good state of motion, by the guide column, guide sleeve, guide plate and so on.

5. Supporting parts

It connects and fixes all kinds of parts above in a certain position, or connects the die with the press. It is the basic parts of the die. It mainly includes upper die seat, lower die seat, fixing plate, backing plate, die handle and so on.

6. Fastening parts

Mainly used to tighten and connect the die parts, such as various bolts, screws, round pins, etc. The guide parts and supporting parts are assembled and called die frames. Die frame is the skeleton of the whole pair of die, all the parts of the die are fixed on it, and bear all the load in the process of stamping. The upper die seat of the die frame is connected with the slide block of the press through the die handle, and the lower die seat is fixed on the working surface of the press with a screw plate. Between the upper and lower dies, the guide device of the die frame is used to maintain its precise position, so as to guide the motion of the punch and ensure the uniform clearance in the stamping process. The formwork and its component parts have been standardized, and certain technical conditions have been specified.

Mold frame is divided into guide column mold frame and guide plate mold frame. The most widely used is the guide column, guide sleeve as a guide device of the mold frame. According to the different feeding methods, the standard mold frame has the rear guide mold frame, the middle guide mold frame, the diagonal guide mold frame and the four guide mold frame. Design mold, according to the convex and concave mold design needs to choose correctly. The size specification of the die can be directly selected from the standard by the size of the die's perimeter.
